Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

Learni is offered to schools and educational institutions. The school that subscribes to Learni decides which data is recorded and what it is used for, so it is the data controller for its school community.

Nekodee acts as the data processor: it stores and processes that data only to provide the service to the school and following its instructions. Nekodee is the direct controller only of the data it receives through this website, for example when you contact us to request a demo.

2. Data we process

Identification and contact data: name, email address, student ID or code, phone number, role within the school (principal, administrator, teacher, parent or student) and profile photo if one is added.

Academic data: grade, section, courses, assignments and submissions, attached files, grades, report cards and attendance, including absence justifications.

Administrative and payment data: charges, payments, balances and internal receipts recorded by the school. Learni does not store credit card numbers or full bank details.

Technical data: sign-in and activity logs, device type and operating system, language and, if you enable them, the identifier used to send push notifications.

3. Data of minors

Learni processes student data, many of whom are minors. This data is recorded by the school, which must obtain the authorization of parents or legal guardians where the law requires it.

Student accounts are created by the school. Parents and guardians can view their children's information from their own account and contact the school with any request about that data.

4. What we use the data for

To provide the service: managing courses, grades, attendance, calendar, communication between the school and families, and school billing.

To keep the platform secure, prevent unauthorized access and resolve technical issues.

To send notifications about school activity, such as new assignments, grades or announcements from the school.

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

5. Who we share the data with

Within Learni, each user only sees the information that matches their role: a parent sees their children's data, a teacher sees the data of their sections and courses, and the school administration sees the data of its institution.

We use infrastructure providers to run the service, such as database, file storage, web hosting and notification services (for example Supabase, Vercel and Apple's and Google's notification services). These providers may be located outside Guatemala and only process the data to provide the service.

We will only hand over data to an authority when a law or a valid court order requires us to.

6. How long we keep the data

We keep the data while the school keeps its Learni service active. When the contract ends, the school can request a copy of its information; afterwards we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, unless a law requires us to keep it longer.

7. Security

We protect the data with encrypted connections, access control by role and by school, and backups. No system is completely infallible; if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will notify the school without undue delay.

8. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or update your data, or request its deletion when it is no longer needed. Since the school is the controller of school data, the fastest route is to send your request to the school; you can also write to us and we will forward it.

9. Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your language. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with its update date and, if the change is significant, we will notify the schools.
